Welcome back, Sir BauerDespite having yesterday off (you have to love NYSE holidays), I was hard at work as I was trying to balance all of the NFL playoffs, NBA games – and my Eastern Conference leading Cleveland Cavaliers – as well as the sixth season premier of 24!  If you have read any of my blurbs in the past, I believe that 24 is the best television show on network television…which of course excludes Sopranos.  However, even Tony and Company have never given me a four hour (FOUR!) season premier.  Thank you, Mr. Jack Bauer...

Hey man…at least I can string together 3 straight games! While it has not yet been finalized, media outlets are reporting that the Denver Nuggets guard Earl Boykins has been traded (along with recent gun shot victim, Julius Hodge) to the Milwaukee Bucks for guard Steve Blake.  Just when you thought that Milwaukee was simply the land of injured players, and Denver was that of free-wheeling shooters, everything changes.

As with most trades in the Association, this one has some nice fantasy implications.

We’ll break this one down by players…

Dikembe was a huge pick-up last week. Just ask him!Wire to Wire aims to be your waiver wire resource for all of your fantasy basketball needs.  It will dive into playing time trends, injury replacements, and even an occasional category specialist – all of which can be found on a typical waiver wire within your fantasy league at any given time.

Another week in the books.  Milwaukee’s Michael Redd is the latest big name to go down, and boy did he ever.  Four to six weeks is far from a short-term loss for owners, especially if those owners also have Josh Smith and Rashard Lewis (frantically waiving hand in the air).  But, hey…that’s what the waiver is for!  I’m aiming just to get myself to the All-Star break.  I think we can make it.  First, let’s see how we did last week

The new year has come and it’s about that time to seriously assess your team going forward.  If you’re in the upper tier of your league, you’ll need to make sure you duplicate your efforts in 2007.  If you’re in the lower rungs of your league, it’s time to get busy and make some moves to get you into the playoffs because that’s what it’s all about.  Just get there!  Everything else will work itself out.

And, yes, I KNOW about all the injuries to superstars such as Yao Ming, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, et al.  I’m playing a violin for you.  Just be quick to pick up their replacements if you think they can make an impact.  Dikembe Mutombo, Jannero Pargo, Tony Allen, and Gerald Green have upped their fantasy values significantly for the aforementioned injured players.  So, what else to do?  Well, obviously, read Sarge’s The Weekly Focus exclusively on HoopsHype.com and Wire to Wire on here and SI.com.  It helps… it really helps!

Oh, and pay attention to what you’re about to read… our position rankings for the upcoming week!  Note that the number in parentheses is the average position between those who chose - Sarge, Big Ron Stud, and myself.  Enjoy and be enlightened!
